Lord, I can't believe it's already Thursday, and I can't believe it's already July. Just one more entry in the "lunch + art" series and I promise to keep it quick.
Sunday, I went downtown--to Pershing Square to be exact. My co-worker Treiops (not his real name) was showing his work + unveiling his performance piece "Cloud People," where friends and random passersby stood on pedestals and yelled their Facebook status updates through a bullhorn. People could then reply with their comments or "Like," also through the bullhorn. I'm not sure how he equated Facebook with the concept of Cloud People, but it was too hot that day to ask questions. It's a Facebook nation, people. Get with the program.
I loved this portrait of Michael Jackson created from recycled soda cans, because--well it's a portrait of Michael Jackson created from recycled soda cans. Which is amazing.

Then I thought, I never really do anything tourist-y, but I was in the neighborhood, so why not take a swing through Olvera street and grab something of the delicious Mexican variety to eat.
