Anyone who knows me knows I am a total popsicle fiend. In fact, if I was an actress with really unhealthy dieting habits and didn't have any knowledge of something like this, I would probably live off of nothing but coffee and popsicles.
But I'm not. I just thought with the triple-digit temps this weekend, there was no better time to talk about one of my favorite delicacies.
Something I've really wanted to try lately is a paleta, the Mexican popsicle which I'm sure has been around for eons, but which I'm just finding out about now. There was this great little article on the LA Weekly blog featuring the Top 10 kinds of paletas. They are all over the city, but the closest to me looks to be pop shop at the Studio City Farmer's Market, featuring flavors like cucumber lime, avocado vanilla and lemon basil. I think it's high time I swing by and pick some up tomorrow morning.
What I'm currently addicted to are these Fruit Frenzy Bars at Trader's Joe's, a delectable combination of raspberry, lemon and strawberry. They are amazing.
I found this article in last week's Brand X weekly, and if I'm ever feeling really adventurous and aren't working 6-7 days a week, which may come around winter--of the year 2020--I might actually make my own popsicles. I think the Orange Buttermilk Mint and Blueberry Lavender pops sound real good.
