It's been awhile since I've blogged, but that's because I've been on vacation. Technically, I still am today, but I'm at the airport and have six hours to kill--I got bumped off my flight. Not to worry, I received $300 for my trouble, and I'll be flying first class when I finally get out of here.
In the meantime, I have some time on my hands, so I thought I'd make good use of it.
We begin with a new feature called "I Can't Believe I've Never Been to..." and the first entry: India Sweet and Spices in Los Feliz.
Like I said, I can't believe I've never been here, since I've heard how awesome it is for years. I guess, when it comes to vegetarian Indian food, I've always gone for the equally awesome (but different) Paru's.
I came here on a Sunday afternoon after seeing Burn This at the Mark Taper Forum. India Sweet and Spices is a grocery store with a cafeteria in back. The menu is enormous--I can't even begin to go into how much is on it, but I could probably eat lunch every day for a year here and still not get to everything on the menu.
Fortunately, they had some kick ass combos, so I could try a few things, most notably a mango pumpkin curry, which was a little sweet, but still delicious. I'm coming here again--and next time I will be a bit more adventurous.
