What is this? Somebody help me out. It's killing me.
I hate to say this, but I only started noticing these last year, and they just blew my mind. They are on trees whose trunks are covered with these pointy little suction-cup-looking things. They start to come out in late August, and I love how the petals litter the sidewalks, like the jacaranda does in the spring.
