cards.
You know what I love? Indie greeting cards. My favorite places to shop for them are currently Skylight Books on Vermont and the fantastic Reform School at Sunset Junction. I could grab a coffee from Casbah Café (sorry, Intelligentsia) and hang out here all morning.
I was at Skylight the other day, and although I have to say their selection isn't as delicious since they moved the cards to a new location (it's ok, I still love you guys and always will), I was instantly smitten by this line called La Familia Green. Created by painter/printer Mollie Green, her aesthetic is, and I quote, "Mexican folk art meets Scandanavian design meets wildlife preserve...West Texas meets the Midwest." In addition to adorable cards, she designs handbound journals from recycled album covers, VHS boxes and vintage postcards. And if that weren't enough to love, a portion of her proceeds are donated to no-kill animal shelters in the Chicago area.
