I love
At the Drive-In, series of paintings of
Andrew Valko, depicting a remote drive-in theater (my guess is in Texas) showing films from both the silver-screen and modern eras. Painted over many years, the collection feels like a film itself, of the small-town noir variety (one of my favorites!).
I especially love the details--a mix of vintage and modern cars, movie icons, concession stands and gas stations that give it all a desolate, lost-in-time feel.
